The RoboWranglers, were co-winners of the FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Championship in Atlanta, GA in May 2008. The Team is sponsored by Rack Solutions, Inc and L-3 Communications Integrated Systems. The FIRST competition included more then 1500 teams from the United States and seven other nations! The RoboWranglers were part of a 3 team alliance that included teams from Sterling Heights, MI and St. Catherines, Ontario. With no instructions, the students had 6 weeks to build their robot from a kit of hundreds of parts. This years game called the "FIRST Overdrive" tested the students and robots' ability to race around a track knocking down 40" inflated trackballs and moving them around the track, passing them over or under a 6'6" overpass.
