I was looking for a filly/mare of breeding age next year, when I ran across the opportunity to purchase Maia. She is a beautiful mare and to top it off, she was bred at the time with a foal due September '09.

Maia arrived from Maine on August 10th at midnight. This is her first night in her new stall here. The 3rd picture was taken shortly after her arrival.

Maia receives some grooming and attention. I took out her braids and re-did them to keep her cool in the August heat. After all, there is a huge difference in temperature between Maine and Georgia. We also have a fan in her stall which she makes use of.

Maia is very close to foaling. A little roll here and there helps to position the foal and makes her feel better.

Maia had her colt on August 26th, 2009 (12 days early)! He's a gorgeous young man and is very curious about the world. Maia is getting her second bath here and is a very well behaved girl, even with the foal running around her.
